Oh do we have a “wowzer” for all of you today! We had the privilege of shooting Melvin and Adriana’s beautiful wedding last week and we couldn’t be happier to be sharing it with you all. These two are very special and beautiful beings and all we can do is hope that we captured their day with the most sincerity. They day was filled with family, friends, and homage to their roots! A couple of months ago we received an email from a very enthusiastic lady who was exploding with ideas and wanted to collaborate in a styled shoot. We have shared with you on a previous post the power of collaboration and our thoughts on the subject. Viki, the owner of a Just a Little Dessert Co. had been wanting to create a sweets table inspired by jewel tone colors, whimsy, and long summer nights. After meeting with her and getting to know her a little better we decided that we wanted to collaborate with her. We all put our heads together and after many emails Viki and Ashley created this beautiful vignette for us to capture. Enjoy!

Business Lessons – Saying No

Say no to say yes. As small business owners and as young entrepreneurs we face many challenges – some that business school and previous jobs prepared us for and some that we had no idea about. This year we’ve really learned the meaning of the power of saying No. We have learned that we have to be more comfortable saying “No.” Yes, it’s really awkward (some more than others but that’s a whole different post.) Yes, we feel guilty. Yes, its hard to say “thank you but no thank you”. But if we have learned one thing this year is that, at the end of the day, saying “no” is better than saying “yes”. How can this be better you ask? Well it is better to say ‘no’ than saying ‘yes’ but not really committing fully to a project because it doesn’t grab us, fire us, or make sense for our life or schedules. At the beginning of our business we would say YES to just about anything and that act alone caused us so many growing pains and way more stress than we needed. We have now learned that saying ‘no’ to little opportunities and some big ones and at times our own ideas have left us open to say ‘yes’ to assignments that we are passionate about and interested in. Opportunities that push us creatively and take us into other business ventures that truly work for our style, passions, and personality. We’ve had to learn how to say No to potential clients – this was probably one of the hardest things to do but we’ve learned it and we do it with grace.

We hope by sharing this with you; you can avoid making some of the mistakes that we made. Learn the power of NO and use it wisely.

We loved everything about Noel and Gerardo’s wedding! We knew from the first time we met, that they trusted us – and as artists that means so so much. We love how all of their hard work and details came together so well! Joy from Fascinare Events was the talented lady keeping the whole day together. It was a joy to work alongside her talented team. Meet Zita and Alex, High School sweet-hearts with over 10 years in the making. They will finally say I do this summer and we couldn’t be happier to be documenting their upcoming wedding! They are avid Disneyland go-ers Disneyland is where Alex popped the question so it made perfect sense to start documenting this new chapter of their lives in the places where it all started. Enjoy!

We have a treat for you all! Check out Natalie and Edwin’s beautiful wedding at Eagle Glen Golf in Corona California. Their wedding is extremely especial to us because Edwin is our brother and we had the honor of document his special day with the assistance of the lovely Diane Schaefer. We are so happy for you two and wish you a lifetime of happiness! Now give us a nephew!

Their wedding was a celebration of their love it was filled with love, tears, and more love and some of the craziest dance moved you’ve ever seen. My sister in law Natalie put tons of time and work into their wedding and we loved how the photos captured their day. We think you will love them as well. Plus the pup with the bow-tie makes everything better!

This engagement session was all sorts of wonderful. The day was beautiful and Adriana and Melvin are some of the sweetest people we’ve ever had the honor of meeting. They are giddy with love. We shared a meal together as they told us their love story. We just really enjoy meeting people and getting to know them. Being Wedding Photographers means that we get to know people very quickly- we learn things about one another that we might not tell everyone when we first meet. This also means that we become friends very quickly and we are so happy to be able to. We absolutely love it and hope that each of these images give you an idea of how special Adriana and Melvin are. We are so excited to be shooting their wedding this summer.
